Duluth's own Domestic Abuse Intervention Programs (DAIP)
is commemorating the work to end violence in the lives of
women and children. The Duluth Model, which we recognize
this evening, is internationally respected as the first and
foremost set of protocols governing the intervention
and prosecution of criminal domestic abuse.

An aerial silk-painting performance presenting
Lee Zimmerman suspended 30 feet above the stage.
Accompaniment by cellist Kathy McTavish, and
poet laureate Sheila Packa. After the performance,
the painting will be cut into six themed panels and be
turned into art-quilts by Karen McTavish. These quilts
will be auctioned in support of DAIP.
The evening also includes a special tribute to Duluth and to
our co-founders Ellen Pence, Shirley Oberg, Coral McDonnell
and Rep. Michael Paymar.
